General Information for Mashambanzou Safaris Clients
Arrival and Transport
Prior to your arrival in Johannesburg it is advisable to have a company assist you with the clearance of your weapons. We advise the use of the Afton Guest House or AIR2000, both companies are fantastic and will assist you in getting through customs in Johannesburg. Note if you are in transit or in South Africa for less than 24 hours you can leave your luggage in transit and collect at your final destination.
Upon your arrival in Beira your PH (Professional Hunter) will be there to meet and greet you as well as ensuring your weapons are cleared quickly and efficiently. You will have more than enough time to get into camp while the sun is up and enjoy an ice cold sundowner chatting about the plans for the up and coming hunt. Our offices are located in the Airport complex of the Beira Airport and we have a good relationship with Customs and the Police to ensure all problems can be swiftly handled should anything arise.
Please Note: Charter fights can be arranged prior to arrival; we encourage the use of charter flights to the various camps as the roads can be rough at times. All charter flights are via Cessna 206 aircraft. Within the hunting areas we make use of Toyota Land Cruiser 4 wheel drive vehicles to locate game. While hunting out of our Zambezi camp we have various motor boats to travel up and down the river. At times we use traditional Mokoros to work our way through the shallows and maze of reeds to get up close to the chosen quarry which is sure to make your African adventure that much more special.
Airport Taxes
All tourists need to pay arrival and departure taxes at the airports in Mozambique; we will assist you in doing this.
