About Mashambanzou Safaris
2011 - Mashambanzou has been operating for 8 years...
Mashambanzou Safaris is coming into its 8th year of operation in 2011. A relatively small company by African standards, providing access to over 200,000
hectares of hunting areas with varied bush types from thick river forests, to Brachystegia and Miombo woodlands, to huge open grasslands and floodplains
which are located approx four hours by vehicle from the Beira Airport.
Mashambanzou operates 3 different camps each able to accommodate up to 6 clients at a time but have accommodations to make sure no 2 different clients
will be sharing the camps at anyone time unless it is their desire to do so with a group such as a 2x2 or 2x1 safari. All camps are within a 3-4 hour
drive of each other. Each site has permanent thatched chalets with bathroom and toilet suite, and hot and cold running water 24/7. All camps have their
own generators and all necessities required to make for a comfortable stay.
Hunting season starts in June because Mozambique's rainy season is predominantly
in January, February and being fairly flat the terrain stays wet for a couple of months.
South African Airways
(SAA) operates a commercial jet service with flights directly to Beira
seven days a week. Clients will clear Mozambique customs at
Beira. Clients may need to stay in Beira overnight if they arrive late in the day. The Tivoli Hotel, which is an average hotel by world standards, is a three
star hotel with rates of $85 per night for room and breakfast single, and $100 per night for double sharing.
